My DJI Mavic Pro resting on top of my Lowepro ProTactic 450 AW camera bag — where it takes off before and lands after each flight.
I took this photo on March 14th earlier this year during a visit to the Point Betsie Lighthouse in Frankfort, Michigan. Alex (my girlfriend) and I were nearing the end of a 5 day trip where we saw 17 lighthouses in total.
My Mavic Pro (now named “Jackson”, thanks Alex) folded up, shrinks down to an incredibly small footprint; slightly larger than your palm.
This is one of my favorite “behind-the-scenes” type photos I’ve taken, as it captures the location I was in along with something that happens each time I fly my Mavic. Point Betsie Lighthouse: hands-down, the most naturally beautiful place I’ve ever been. It was hard not to capture a good photo that morning.
My favorite photo from that morning though, was this pre-sunrise view

Can’t wait to get back to work this summer on completing my goal of capturing each and every lighthouse around Lake Michigan by the end of the year.
I’m currently at $97/month on Patreon (which is crazy!) and I’m about to reach my first goal of $100/month!
I definitely need the support of my Patrons to continue my Lighthouse journey this summer. If you’d like to join and support my lighthouse trips like this, you can support me here on Patreon!
For the $10/mo. pledge level, you’ll get a free, personalized 2018 calendar mailed to you at the end of this year made up of your favorite 12 images that I took in 2017. May will be the last month left to claim this reward, don’t miss out!
See you tomorrow for another daily photo.
